All materials in the product are screened against hazard lists in the Chemical and Material Library (CML) to determine whether they have been identified as persistent and bioaccumulative toxicants (PBTs), what health effects have been associated with them and how they have been categorized on the CML level of concern scale (black for highest concern, then red, orange, yellow and green lowest concern). All chemicals emitted by the manufacturing facility and identified in the CML as used or emitted in the manufacture of the material are similarly screened for hazard.
Read the CML home page (http://p3.pharosproject.net/hazard) for further description of the protocols used to categorize materials by their direct and life cycle hazards.
