Company: The company must be the primary manufacturer of the product that does the majority of the fabrication and assembly of the final product.

Compliant corporate sustainability report: A compliant report is a corporate environmental or sustainability report that reports on environmental, health, and social performance of the entire company. It must be demonstrated to comply with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines or get a minimum listed score from the following organizations that rate corporate reports.

Environmental Management System: An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a set of processes and practices that enable an organization to reduce its environmental impacts and increase its operating efficiency. For more information visit www.epa.gov/ems

Pattern of serious violation: A serious violation pattern can be demonstrated by

• Repeated violations/accidents/incidents that show a pattern of not correcting problems
• Major violations
• Criminal violations
• Major settlements
• Unpaid fines,

or other indications of clear corporate irresponsibility or efforts to ignore or cover up problems rather than address them. How a corporation is dealing with problems that happen is as important as the cleanliness of the record.
